Canvas: How to Open Links in a New Window

- Go to the Modules of a specific course and click on the desired link.
- You may notice that the contents will open within the Canvas course.
- If you would like for the content (in this case, the digital textbook) to open in a new tab (outside of the Canvas course) start by going back to Modules.
- To the right of that specific link, select the 3 dots, then select Edit.
- Check the box next to "Load in a new tab" then select Update.
- You will receive the following message on the next screen, "This tool needs to be loaded in a new browser window." Select the "Load Resource in a new window."
- Now you will see the content open in a new browser window (outside of Canvas).
