Steps to Import Question Bank Files into Brightspace/D2L

Before importing question bank files, Instructors will need to upload the common cartridge (.imscc file) (See: How to Import a Common Cartridge into Brightspace by D2L) and activate their Instructor Subscription (See: How to Activate an Instructor Subscription through Brightspace by D2L).

Download Question Bank Files from the Online Instructor Resources

  1. Log in to your Brightspace/D2L account.

  2. Open the course to which you would like to import question bank files.

  3. On the D2L toolbar, select Content.

  4. On the left-hand side of the screen, expand the Resources content and select Online Instructor Resources.

  5. The Online Instructor Resources will open. Scroll down and click on the plus sign to expand the Assessment Software & Question Pools subheading.

  6. Depending on the copyright year of the content you are importing, you may need to download IMS QTI files or Blackboard Learn files.

  7. Select one zip folder at a time to download. Repeat until all zip folders have been downloaded.

  8. The zip folders will save to your local hard drive. Extract files from the zip folder to view one zip folder for each chapter.

  5. Upload (or drag and drop) each chapter zip folder one at a time and select Import All Components.

  6. Once the file has uploaded, select View Content.
