print icon

If your school district has updated to the latest version of Schoology, you may no longer be able to create Tests/Quizzes; Instead, you may only have the option to Add Assessments. This article is dedicated to creating assessments. If you still have the option to create Tests/Quizzes in your course, please visit that Knowledge Base Article here.

Part 1: Download Exam Files from the Online Instructor Resources

  1. Expand the Resources folder from inside a course and select Online Instructor Resources.

  2. The Online Instructor Resources will appear. Expand the Assessment Software & Question Pools section. Expand the Blackboard Learn 9.x section and select the name of the question type to download (i.e. Exam Questions, Pretest Questions, Posttest Questions, etc.). *The following screen captures are for copyright titles 2022 and earlier. If you have a 2023 copyright title or later, your Online Instructor Resources may look different, but will read the same.

  3. Once the zip folder is downloaded, Extract all files.

  4. There will be one zip folder for each chapter.

Part 2: Upload Exam Files into Schoology Resources

  6. Once the zip folders are uploaded, instructors will be able to find the question bank files within their collection.

  7. With the Schoology upgrade to Assessments, Question Banks will need to be converted to Item Banks. Select the Gear icon next to a Question Bank file and select Convert to Item Bank.
