Schoology: How to Create an Assignment in Schoology

Steps to Create an Assignment in Schoology

  1. After logging in to Schoology, select the Courses tab and choose a course.

     
  2. Select a specific folder to which you would like to add an assignment (or you can leave this assignment outside of the folders).

     
  3. Inside the folder, select Add Materials.

     
  4. Select Add Assignment.

     
  5. The Create Assignment window will appear. Complete the fields for this assignment:


    a)    Required: Enter a Name for this assignment
    b)    Provide a Description for your students so they know how to complete this assignment. For example, students may take a screen shot of a completed
    assignment and send it to their instructor, or students may complete a PDF workbook assignment and sent it to the instructor as an attachment.
    c)     You may provide a Due Date for your students
    d)    You may add a Point Value for this assignment
    e)    Required: Select a Category
  6. Select Create.
     

  7. This assignment will be added to the end of the resources in this folder.
     

  8. An Instructor may move this assignment by dragging and dropping it to a different location.

     

  9. An Instructor may copy this assignment to another course if they want:


    a)    Select the Gear icon next to the assignment
    b)    Select Copy to Course
    c)    Select a course to copy the assignment to
    d)    Select Copy
